Alkaline Trio is a melodic punk trio from Chicago, a signature blend of straightforward punk and dramatic, emotional lyrics featuring subjects such as alcoholism, heartbreak, drug addiction, self-harm and death. Much of the band's charm is often accredited to the contrasting singing & songwriting styles of Matt Skiba and Dan Andriano, who alternate singing duties throughout their albums. Formed in 1996, the original lineup consisting of Matt Skiba (vocals, guitar), Rob Doran (bass, vocals), and Glen Porter (drums, vocals). After the release of SundialsEP on Asian Man Records in 1997, Rob Doran was replaced by ex-Slapstick bassist Dan Andriano. The following year, the band released it's second EP For Your Lungs Only.
